Shara has been spayed and adopted by her foster family, and is in her forever home.

Kiska has been spayed and is in our adoption program awaiting her forever home.

Nikea has just given birth to 9 beautiful pups in foster care.

Thank you for the tremendous response to our request for help - all donations will go directly to their care in foster.

(For background information, please see below.)

The SPCA of Western Quebec is providing shelter to three of the rescued female huskies from the Upper Laurentians in Quebec, one of which is pictured here.

Our sincere appreciation is extended to the SPCA Laurentides Labelle, Humane Society International and United Animal Nations for their efforts in freeing these dogs from such deplorable conditions.

Thanks as well to the Humane Society of the United States for providing transportation for these animals to the Ottawa region and beyond so they may have much-needed shelter.

Meanwhile our huskies will receive the necessary veterinary assessment and treatment, and will be placed in foster care as needed.  Even though they have suffered severe neglect, these lovely girls are gentle and affectionate.

Pictured below is Joann Rooke, who organized fundraising at her firm of Gowlings Lafleur Henderson LLP Barristers & Solicitors, raising $700.00 which was used to purchase 40 bags of puppy food.  Thank you so much for your generosity!

If you would like to assist the SPCA of Western Quebec, donations are most needed and appreciated and will be put directly towards the care of these dogs.  Contributions are accepted online at the main page of the SPCA website via Canadahelps.org, as well as at the shelter location at 659 Auguste Mondoux, Gatineau, Quebec (Aylmer sector), J9J 3K2.
